Introductory flight experiences for adults

When you say, “I’ve always wanted to fly,” we know what you’re talking about. That’s why EAA created Eagle Flights. Now you can discover the fun, freedom, and accessibility of personal aviation through a hands-on introductory flight experience with one of our EAA member pilots.

An Eagle Flight is your opportunity to experience all that aviation has to offer. You’ll fly with a licensed, local EAA member pilot who will take you through the steps of flying your own airplane—from visually inspecting an airplane before the flight to taking off, landing, and navigating the sky. During your flight, you’ll have the opportunity to follow along at the controls as your pilot shows you how to make gentle climbs, turns, and descents.

Eagle flights will be carried out via personal "one-on-one" arrangements v.s. the larger group events that we schedule for Young Eagles. The Eagles program was just announced a few weeks ago and EAA Chapter 92 has not yet automated a method to handle applications and make the  arrangements to connect pilots willing to fly interested adults.

Eagle Flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of local EAA members who are volunteering their time, aircraft, and fuel. My first step will be to identify a local EAA member willing to volunteer his or her time, aircraft, and fuel for your flight. Please email your: name, best phone number(s), age, height and weight [airplanes handle passengers by weight not by the number of seats and some work better for taller passengers] to EagleFlights@eaa92.com. This will facilitate locating a pilot with an appropriate plane. Your information will be forwarded to one of our pilots to make flight arrangements.

After your flight, he or she can answer any questions you may have about flying or the next steps you can take on your journey to becoming a pilot.

If you have any additional questions about EAA Eagle Flights, feel free to e-mail EagleFlights@eaa92.com or call Robert Baker, EAA 92 Manager of Eagle Flights, at 949-888-1695.
